No decision yet taken on train movement: Railway DG
Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Railway Sardar Shahadat said that no decision has been taken yet regarding when the trains will run amid the current situation of the country. He said that the train officials informed when the decision to be made.
He transpired this information on Sunday (July 28) morning.
Earlier, passenger trains were stopped across the country due to the quota reform movement. However, the trains which were supposed to run short distances have also been cancelled.
He said that no decision has been taken yet regarding the movement of trains. It's not about running the train, it's about safety. After analyzing the overall situation and discussing with the minister, secretary and everyone concerned, a decision will be taken as when the train will operate.
Earlier on July 18, the Bangladesh Railway stopped the train movement due to ensure public safety when quota agitators protested by setting fire to the railway line in Nakhalpara rail gate area of Dhaka.
