The Bangladesh University Teachers' Association Federation withdrawn the ongoing university teachers movement over the 'Prottoy scheme' of universal pension.
This information has been informed in a circular signed by the president of the federation Professor Dr. Md. Akhtarul Islam and Secretary General Professor Dr. Md. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan on Sunday (August 4).
The ongoing agitation was called off due to the withdrawal of university participation from the pension scheme and the violent situation that arose in the state crisis.
It also said that an emergency meeting was held on the online platform on Saturday (August 3) under the chairmanship of the president of Bangladesh University Teachers' Association and moderated by the secretary general.
Selected representatives of various university teachers' associations were present in the meeting. At this time, satisfaction was expressed regarding the cancellation of the decision to participate in the Prottoy scheme for autonomous institutions including universities.
