Sheikh Hasina's stance won't spoil relations with India: Foreign Advisor
The foreign advisor of the interim government, Md. Touhid Hossain said that we must protect the agreements or commitments we have with them. Even if Sheikh Hasina is in India, there is no reason to spoil relations with that country.
He spoke to reporters after meeting with foreign diplomats on Monday (August 12) afternoon.
When asked whether Sheikh Hasina's stay in India will strain relations between the two countries, Advisor Tauhid Hossain said, bilateral relations are a very big issue, it is a relation of interests. Friendship is for self-interest.
India has interests in Bangladesh, and we have interests in India. We will follow that interest and try to maintain our good relationship. If she (Sheikh Hasina) is there or someone is in a country, why should our relationship with that country be damaged? there is no reason for it to be damaged.
