There has been a lot of relief in the vegetable market for almost three weeks since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government on August 5. This situation is maintained even in flood situations. Prices of almost all vegetables in the market today are within reach.

Pointed gourd, papaya, and lady's finger are being sold at Tk 30 to 50 per kg in the market. Although a month ago no vegetables were available below Tk 60.

Apart from this, brinjal, green beans, spiny gourd, bitter gourd, and taro stem root are being sold at Tk 60-80 per kg which was previously sold at Tk 100 per kg.

The price of potatoes has also decreased. Potatoes priced at Tk 60 per kg are now available at Tk 55. Apart from this, the price of green chili was above Tk 200, currently, this has come down to Tk 160.

Broiler chicken is being sold at Tk 160-170 per kg in the market. Which was sold last week at Tk 170 to Tk 180 per kg. Apart from this, golden chicken is being sold at the rate of Tk 250 to 260 per kg reduced by Tk 10.

Businessmen say that the Sheikh Hasina government could not control the daily commodities market. Businessmen have syndicated under various pretexts. But alongside the interim government, ordinary students are now overseeing the market. As a result, extortion has been reduced in many places.

A buyer named Asif Hasan said that the price of vegetables has decreased in the market. Apart from this, the price of chicken and fish also seems to be low. Basically, due to the collapse of the syndicate, the prices of all products have fallen in the market.

Another shopper Saikat Molla said that besides the interim government, ordinary students are now monitoring the market. As a result, no one dares to extort. It has an impact on the market. As a result, the price of all products has decreased.

Earlier, last Saturday, the interim government issued separate ordinances to amend the municipal, upazila, district and city corporation laws, leaving the power to remove local government representatives and appoint administrators in special circumstances. The file regarding removal of City Corporation mayors has been sent to the Office of the Chief Adviser. It is known that currently there are 12 mayors in 12 city corporations of the country. The relevant branch of the local government department has prepared a notification regarding the removal of 12 persons. At the same time the notification for appointment of Administrator has also been prepared. Notice may be issued at any time. The updated information of Bangladesh Bank says that the remittance received till the first 3 days of this month is 9 crore 56 lakh 50 thousand dollars. And remittance received from August 4 to 10 is 38 crore 71 lakh 20 thousand dollars. Bangladesh Bank also says that in the first 17 days of August, remittances have arrived through legal means of 114 crore 42 lakh 20 thousand dollars.
