HC dismisses petition seeking ban on AL

The High Court dismissed the petition filed seeking ban and deregistration of Awami League for indiscriminate killing of students.

The High Court bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Md Mahbub Ul Islam gave this order on Sunday (September 1).

In court, the writ petitioner Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan heard himself on behalf of the writ and made his previous statement 'not press'. Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman was on the state's side.

Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan filed this writ on behalf of human rights organization, 'Sarda Society'.

Earlier, in the hearing of this writ, the Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman told the High Court that the interim government has no intention of banning or canceling the registration of any political party.
