Death toll rises to 71 in floods

Four more people died due to floods in different districts of the country. The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has informed that 71 people have died till Tuesday (September 3). Among them 45 men, 7 women and 19 children.

The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief announced this information in a press conference on Monday (September 3) noon. Adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Freedom Fighter Farooq-e-Azam was present at that time.

District-wise deaths were 19 in Cumilla, 28 in Feni, 6 in Chattogram, 11 in Noakhali, 1 in Brahmanbaria, 1 in Lakshmipur, three in Cox's Bazar, 1 in Moulvibazar and 1 in Khagrachari.

68 upazilas of Feni, Cumilla, Chattogram, Noakhali, Cox's Bazar, Khagrachari, Brahmanbaria, Lakshmipur, Moulvibazar, Habiganj and Sylhet have been flooded.

Still, 6 lakh 5 thousand 767 families are water-logged. The number of affected people is more than 51 lakh 8 thousand. 3 thousand 615 shelters have been opened for the shelter of affected people. More than 3 lakh 6 thousand people have been sheltered in these.
