Fatal Bus-Truck Collision at Bangabandhu Bridge: 3 Dead, 10 Injured
A tragic bus-truck collision early Saturday morning at Bangabandhu Bridge in Sirajganj claimed three lives and left ten others injured. The accident occurred around 5:30 am on September 7, near the bridge's 13th pillar.
According to reports, the driver of a Dhaka Express Paribahan bus lost control and collided with the back of a truck while crossing the bridge. The front section of the bus crumpled on impact, instantly killing three passengers. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.
Officer-in-Charge of Bangabandhu Setu West Police Station, Abdul Quader Jilani, stated that emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene to rescue the victims. The injured were transported to Sirajganj General Hospital, while others were sent to nearby medical facilities.
Traffic on the bridge was soon restored after authorities cleared the wreckage. The truck involved fled the scene, and police are working to identify both the driver and the victims of the crash.
