Indian High Commissioner Meets Foreign Affairs Adviser to Strengthen Ties

Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma paid a courtesy visit to the Foreign Affairs Adviser, Md. Touhid Hossain, today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh, with both sides highlighting the need for enhanced cooperation in key areas.

During their discussion, the Adviser and the High Commissioner emphasized the importance of working together to promote stronger ties. They referred to the recent meeting between the Foreign Affairs Adviser and Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, held on the sidelines of the 79th UN General Assembly in New York, and stressed the necessity of reactivating regular bilateral mechanisms between the two nations.

The meeting also covered collaboration in trade, development projects, and fostering people-to-people connections. A key topic of discussion was the resumption of regular visa processing services by the Indian High Commission, aimed at facilitating travel between the two countries.

The discussions underscored the mutual commitment to advancing the partnership between India and Bangladesh through sustained dialogue and cooperation.
