The court has imposed restrictions on the departure of former Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdur Rahman.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge (Acting) Farzana Yasmin passed the order on Sunday following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Abdur Rahman was elected Member of Parliament from Faridpur-1 constituency in the last January 7 election. Later, when Awami League formed the government, he was given the responsibility of Minister of Fisheries and Livestock.

When the Awami League was ousted from power in the popular uprising of the students on August 5, Abdur Rahman, like other ministers and MPs, disappeared. His whereabouts are not yet known.

There are various allegations against this Awami League leader including corruption, abuse of power, and illegal activities.
