Govt Not Sure about Hasina Left India or Not: Foreign Adviser
Foreign Affairs Adviser Tauhid Hossain said that the position of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has suddenly become suspicious. The governments of India and the United Arab Emirates have not confirmed any information in this regard.
Tauhid Hossain told reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (October 8).
The foreign adviser said, "I have seen on various social media that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has gone to Ajman in the United Arab Emirates. Searches are being made in Delhi and Abu Dhabi to know her whereabouts. Still, we are not sure about her leaving India.
Tauhid Hossain said, that if the fugitives want to return to India, a travel pass can be issued. If the court asks to bring them back, then the initiative will be taken.
Incidentally, Sheikh Hasina left the country and fled to India after resigning from the post of Prime Minister in the face of a student uprising on August 5. After staying there for two consecutive months, rumours spread that she left India and moved to the United Arab Emirates.
Her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy opened up about this. Talking to the media on Monday (October 7) night, he said, 'The news that is being heard that my mother has left India, is not correct. She is still staying in India.
Earlier, Sajeeb Wazed Joy said, "There is no pressure on former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to leave India."
