SSC, HSC Exams Likely to be Delayed Next Year
Last year's SSC and equivalent exams started in February as before after dealing with the shock of the Covid period. However, this year's exam is likely to be delayed by two months. The education boards have accepted the plan to hold next year's SSC examination in April after the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. As the SSC exam is delayed, HSC and equivalent exams are also delayed by two months. This exam may be conducted in June next year.
This is informed by the sources of the Dhaka Education Board.
According to the syllabus, every year SSC exam is held in the beginning of February, and the HSC exam in the beginning of April. However, due to the advent of Corona, the entire syllabus was messed up from March 2020.
The situation started to become normal this year. Last year SSC exam started on April 30. But This year, the SSC exam started on February 15. Next year it is likely to be delayed again.
However, the education boards started preparing for the SSC exam assuming that the exam will be held in February next year. For that purpose, the selective examination is going on in the schools. Form filling has also been announced from December 1.
However, it was suddenly decided to postpone the exam. No one related to the education board is saying anything specific about the reason why the exam is being delayed.
An official of the Dhaka Education Board, on condition of anonymity, said that due to the recent political unrest, there has been a messy situation at educational institutions. It is not possible to finish the syllabus properly. There are also applications from students and parents. Therefore, to avoid any problem with the examination in February, a plan has been taken to postpone the SSC examination after the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
Incidentally, next year's holy Eid-ul-Fitr may be celebrated on March 31, depending on the sighting of the moon. And the holy Eid-ul-Azha may be on June 7 next year.
According to Dhaka Education Board sources, next year's SSC and equivalent exams will be held based on the full syllabus. The exam will be conducted with full marks and time in all subjects. However, the HSC and equivalent exams will be on a shortened or restructured syllabus as of 2023.
