ISKCON Monk Chinmoy Krishna Denied Bail, Sent to Jail
A Chattogram court has rejected Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari's bail petition, the spokesperson of the Bangladesh Sammilito Sanatan Jagaron Jote, and ordered him to jail in a treason case filed over allegations of disrespecting the national flag.
Judge Shariful Islam of the Chattogram Sixth Metropolitan Magistrate Court passed the order around 12:15 pm on Tuesday (November 26).
It is known that Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari was brought to the court under tight security at 11:30 am today. After the hearing, the court of Kazi Shariful Islam rejected his bail and ordered him to be sent to jail.
Chinmoy's lawyer, Dilip Kumar Nath, said, "The court has rejected the bail petition. We will file a missing case tomorrow."
Earlier, on Monday (November 25) afternoon, Chinmoy was arrested from Shahjalal International Airport in the capital and taken into DB custody.
After the arrest, DB sources said that several rallies were held in Chattogram and Rangpur under the leadership of Chinmoy Krishna, with the 8-point demands of Sanatan Religion followers.
Chinmoy is also the head of Pundarik Dham in Chattogram.
