PSC Offers Unlimited Attempts Limit For BCS Exam
The Public Service Commission (PSC) of Bangladesh has proposed allowing candidates to participate in the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams for unlimited times within the age limit for government job applications. The recently announced rule will be revoked.
The proposal was recently sent to the Ministry of Public Administration.
According to sources in the PSC's examination branch, according to the government's decision, a candidate can participate in the BCS exam four times until the age of 32. However, the PSC wants to allow the candidates until the age limit for applying for jobs expires.
Therefore, a proposal in this regard has been sent to the Ministry of Public Administration. If the ministry gives final approval to it, then job seekers will have the opportunity to take the BCS exam as many times as they want until their age limit.
An official of the Recruitment, Posting and Promotion Department of the Ministry of Public Administration said that several proposals have been received. These may be approved within a day or two.
However, it is not possible to say which one will be approved right now.
Regarding this, on October 31, the advisory council meeting decided that BCS cannot be taken more than four times. In the previous meeting, it was decided that BCS can be taken a maximum of three times.
Later, there was much discussion and criticism on the issue. After that, the government reversed that decision and decided that a candidate could take the BCS exam a maximum of four times.
However, public administration experts are against fixing the number of times BCS can be taken. In addition, job seekers have been protesting the issue.
