In light of the recent fire incident and subsequent disruption of security at the Secretariat, all temporary entry passes for private individuals have been revoked. Even journalists with accreditation cards are temporarily barred from entering the Secretariat until further notice.

This information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday, December 27.

The press release stated that, to enhance the overall security of the Bangladesh Secretariat, all temporary entry passes issued for private individuals are hereby canceled, except for the permanent entry passes (Digital Access Control System) issued to Secretariat officials and employees and the temporary passes for government officials and employees. Access to the Secretariat via journalist accreditation cards is also suspended until further notice.

Furthermore, the press release noted that individuals holding revoked entry passes can apply for new temporary entry passes through a special cell established by Bangladesh Police at the Crime Command and Control Center, DMP, 15 Abdul Gani Road, Dhaka, within the next 15 days.
