The Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) of Bangladesh Bank has summoned the bank accounts of all members of the family of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana. The agency has sent directives to banks and financial institutions across the country requesting this information.

The request includes bank account details of Sheikh Hasina's daughter, Saima Wazed (Putul), son Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed (Joy), Sheikh Rehana's son Radwan Mujib Siddiq (Bobby), and daughters Tulip Rizwana Siddiq and Azmina Siddiq.

Sources indicate that the BFIU is examining whether Sheikh Hasina and her family members were involved in any financial crimes, as per anti-money laundering regulations.

Recently, a report by British media outlet Financial Times stated that a real estate businessman named Abdul Motalef had gifted a flat in London to Tulip Siddiq. The businessman reportedly had connections with individuals close to Sheikh Hasina. This information was found in land registration documents in the UK.

Additionally, a report by the Sunday Times mentioned that Tulip Siddiq lived in a flat in Hampstead, North London, which was provided to her family by an associate of her aunt, Sheikh Hasina. The report stated that the flat on Finchley Road in Hampstead was gifted to Tulip’s sister Azmina without charge.
