FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced plans to visit Bangladesh within the next two months. He said, "I want to visit Bangladesh within the next two months." During this visit, he also expressed hope for financing women's football in Bangladesh.

On Wednesday (January 22), during a meeting on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum's annual session in Davos, Switzerland, Infantino made this commitment while meeting with Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor. The news of this meeting and visit was shared on the Chief Advisor's Facebook page.

Praising Yunus' concept of implementing carbon-neutral sports, the FIFA President said FIFA would assist in developing football in South Asia.

In response to a request from the Chief Advisor for dormitories and other infrastructure facilities for Bangladeshi women footballers, Infantino stated that FIFA wants to finance women's football in Bangladesh.

Infantino expressed regret over not being able to visit Bangladesh for the ongoing youth festival, despite being invited. He added that FIFA would also support women's football in Saudi Arabia, benefiting Bangladeshi expatriates there.

During the meeting with the FIFA President, the Chief Advisor was accompanied by the Bangladesh Government's SDG Coordinator Lamia Morshed and Bangladesh's Ambassador to Geneva, Tareq Ariful Islam.
