Metro rail services have returned to normal after being halted for over an hour due to a technical issue.

On Saturday (January 25), metro rail operations in Dhaka were disrupted from 1:32 pm to 2:50 pm. While service was halted for 40 minutes between Pallabi Station and Motijheel, operations resumed fully at 2:50 pm.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director Mohammad Abdur Rouf confirmed the matter, stating that the signal system receives power from two transformers, one of which encountered a problem.

According to a DMTCL source, the ongoing Dhaka University admission tests today led to an increased number of passengers at the stations. Particularly in the morning, due to the heavy crowd, the doors of several trains could not close properly.
