Dr Yunus Returns to Bangladesh After Switzerland Visit

Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the interim government, has returned to Bangladesh following a four-day official visit to Switzerland.

According to the Chief Advisor's press wing, his flight landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday (January 25) shortly after 5 pm.

Dr Yunus and his delegation departed from Zurich International Airport on Friday at 9:50 pm local time in Switzerland.

Highlights of the Visit
During his stay in Davos, Switzerland, Dr Yunus actively participated in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and numerous high-level side events. He was involved in a total of 47 programs, which included:

Meetings with Global Leaders
Four meetings with heads of state or government.
Four meetings with ministers or senior officials.

Engagements with International Organizations
Ten meetings with senior executives from the UN and other international bodies.

Business and Corporate Discussions
Ten meetings with CEOs and top business executives.

Participation in WEF Events
Nine events were organized by WEF, including four formal dinners and luncheons.

Media and Miscellaneous Events
Eight media engagements.
Two additional miscellaneous programs.

Dr Yunus departed for Davos on the night of January 20. Upon his arrival in Switzerland, he was welcomed by Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the UN, Tareq Mohammad Ariful Islam.

His visit underscored Bangladesh's increasing engagement in global discussions on economic and social development.
