The state has submitted the FBI and Canadian police report to the court over the issue of bribe taking against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

The report was submitted on behalf of Attorney General on Thursday afternoon. The court fixed the date for hearing over the report on December 9.

When asked about this Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Sanaullah Mia told Rtv online, a paper was submitted to the court from the office of the Attorney General. We will face the legal process after taking necessary measures in this regard. But it has no relation with the Niko graft case.

In the Niko graft case the date is fixed for hearing on framing charge on January 3. Judge of the Dhaka special judge court-9 Mahmudul Kabir is conducting the judicial proceedings.

Earlier on November 30 last year Khaleda Zia surrendered before the lower court and obtained bail in the Niko graft case.

On June 18 last year the High Court delivered verdict that activities of the case filed by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) will continue in the judicial court.

ACC Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Mahbubul Alam filed the Niko graft case against five persons including Khaleda Zia over allegation of corruption and financial loss to the state through a vague agreement with Canadian company Niko. The case was filed on December 9, 2007 during the caretaker government rule.

In this case the charge sheet was filed in the court against 11 persons including Begum Khaleda Zia on May 5, 2008. Allegation was brought against them for creating financial loss to the state worth 13 thousand 777 crore taka.
