No administration reshuffles over Oikyafront demand: 14-party to EC

The leaders of 14-party alliance led by Awami League have requested the Election Commission (EC) for not reshuffling the administration and police according to the demands of BNP and Jatiya Oikyafront.

The representatives of 14-party said these after holding meeting with EC on Friday. The alliance leaders also handed over a letter to the EC. A 12-member delegation team led by Bangladesh Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua held meeting with EC.

At that time Dilip Barua said, Jatiya Oikyafront led by BNP is trying to achieve double goals at a time. At one point they are preparing for election and again they are trying to break the morale of EC by filing false complains; so that they cannot hold a fair and peaceful election neutrally. We have told the commission that it is the jurisdiction EC to reshuffle in administration. Reshuffle should not be taken place according to BNP’s direction without specific allegation.

He said, BNP repeatedly is violating the electoral laws and code of conduct but as a lawyer Oikyafront chief Dr. Kamal Hossain is not telling anything in this regard. They want to implement their secret agenda through destabilizing the electoral atmosphere. No repression should take place upon the minority people before and after election and measures should be taken so that they can cast their votes without hindrance.

He also alleged that BNP secretary general is pushing the country towards violence by speaking about controlling the voting centers.
