The recent tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump's administration on Bangladeshi products will not be too difficult to manage, according to Economic Advisor Dr Salehuddin Ahmed.
Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Sunday—the first working day after the Eid holidays—Dr Ahmed downplayed the potential impact of the new tariff policy.
He stated, "The new tariffs by the Trump administration won't cause significant disruption. The effect of the duties on Bangladeshi exports to the US can be managed without much difficulty."
Dr. Ahmed also noted that this year's Eid was celebrated well across the country. "In March alone, Bangladesh received $3 billion in remittances, which contributed to an increase in foreign currency reserves,'' he added.
