The quality of foods in a restaurant will be known by watching its outside color. The restaurants will be identified into four categories- A plus, A, B and C on the basis of food quality, pureness, serving, system to watch kitchen environment through monitor and health protection measures for the waiters. After verifying the quality Bangladesh Food Safety Authority will supply those stickers.
Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder informed about the decision at a program at a hotel in the capital on Sunday.
It was informed in the program that Bangladesh Food Safety Authority inaugurated the activities on April 2, 2018 by attaching sticker at Kasturi Hotel. The initiative was taken as a pilot project at Motijheel, Dilkusha, Paltan and Secretariat area in the capital. Under the project 18 ‘A plus’ and 39 ‘A’ grade stickers will be provided.
Sadhan Chandra Majumder said, if a restaurant can score more than 90 number according to quality of food then that will be provided ‘Green’ color sticker or ‘A plus’ grade. ‘Blue’ sticker or ‘A’ grade will be given if the score is above 80. If the score remains between 55 to 79 number then those will be given ‘Yellow’ sticker or ‘B’ grade and the restaurants with score 45 to 55 number will be given ‘Orange’ sticker of ‘C’ grade.
Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon was present in the program as the special guest.
To the restaurant businessmen he said, this recognition is government recognition. Your business and profit will increase after getting the recognition. We hope that you will do your business in proper way.
The Mayor also requested the Food Safety Authority to monitor activities of the restaurants regularly.
