The BDR massacre was orchestrated as part of an international conspiracy to keep the Awami League in power, claimed Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman.
Speaking at an event at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on Saturday morning, he stated that the massacre was carried out to hold the people of Bangladesh hostage, suppress their voting rights, and destabilize the country's sovereignty through chaos.
He pointed out that the incident would not have been possible without the silent inaction of former Army Chief General Moeen U Ahmed. He emphasized the need to identify and expose the masterminds behind the attack.
Asaduzzaman also called for an investigation into whether members of the Awami League and Jubo League had participated in the massacre while disguised in administrative uniforms.
Criticizing neighbouring India, he accused the country of exploiting Bangladesh under the pretext of friendship. He further alleged that India is now protecting a fugitive killer, positioning itself against Bangladesh.
He claimed that external forces were actively trying to weaken Bangladesh, leading to what he referred to as the "July Revolution."
Regarding justice for the massacre, the Attorney General confirmed that a commission has been formed to uncover all relevant details. He reiterated that the killing of 57 elite army officers was a deliberate attack on Bangladesh's sovereignty, vowing to bring both the perpetrators and masterminds to justice.
