Seven eminent individuals have been selected to receive the prestigious Independence Award 2025 in recognition of their outstanding contributions in various fields.

According to official sources, the recipients of this year's award are:
- M A G Osmani (Posthumous) – Commander-in-Chief of the Liberation War
- Azam Khan (Posthumous) – Renowned pop music legend
- Al Mahmud (Posthumous) – Celebrated poet
- Badruddin Umar – Leftist politician and intellectual
- Fazle Hasan Abed (Posthumous) – Founder of BRAC
- Novera Ahmed (Posthumous) – Noted sculptor
- Abrar Fahad (Posthumous) – BUET student and symbol of justice
The Independence Award is the highest state honour in Bangladesh, given for exceptional contributions at the national level. Each recipient will receive an 18-carat gold medal weighing 50 grams, a financial reward, and a certificate of recognition.
