UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres left Dhaka today after a four-day visit. He departed from Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport at 9:55 AM on Sunday (March 16).
Environmental Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan and High Representative of the Chief Advisor on the Rohingya Crisis Khalilur Rahman saw him off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Before leaving, the UN Secretary-General spoke to Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus over the phone and exchanged farewell greetings.
Earlier, the UN Secretary-General arrived at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday afternoon. He was welcomed there by Foreign Advisor Mo. Touhid Hossain. Children presented flowers to the UN Secretary-General.
On the second day of the visit, Guterres visited the Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar on Friday. He participated in Iftar with millions of Rohingyas.
On the third day of the visit, yesterday, Saturday morning, he attended a meeting with the UN Country Team in Bangladesh. Then, in the afternoon, he held a roundtable meeting with political parties. Later, he met with representatives of the youth.
In the afternoon, he held a joint press conference with the Foreign Advisor. After the press conference, he participated in an Iftar and early dinner session. During this time, Antonio Guterres assured all kinds of cooperation to Bangladesh.
