Chief Advisor Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus is set to hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on March 28, according to Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
Speaking at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Sunday (March 16) afternoon, the Press Secretary shared details about the upcoming visit.
During his trip to China, Dr Yunus will prioritize discussions on increasing investment in Bangladesh. The interim government is also working to ensure a stable gas supply for all citizens, and it is expected that these challenges will soon be resolved.
Additionally, he is scheduled to meet with senior Chinese officials. Ahead of this visit, the Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh met with the Chief Advisor today.
Shafiqul Alam also mentioned that the UN Secretary-General has assured support for Bangladesh's reform initiatives. However, these reforms will be carried out independently rather than through an international process. While the global community has expressed willingness to support the effort, Bangladesh has yet to decide whether it will accept such assistance.
