Chief Advisor Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus will embark on a four-day official visit to Qatar on Monday, April 21, at the invitation of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
According to Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Dr Yunus will attend the 'Earthna Summit 2025', taking place in Doha, the capital of Qatar. A bilateral meeting between the Chief Advisor and the Emir is also anticipated during the visit.
Accompanying the Chief Advisor are several senior officials, including Foreign Affairs Advisor Md Touhid Hossain, Energy Advisor Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, and Industry Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan.
In a historic first for Bangladesh, four national female athletes will also be part of the official delegation. The athletes include footballers Afida Khandaker and Shaheda Akhtar Ripa, along with cricketers Sumaiya Akhtar and Sharmin Sultana.
The Earthna Summit, scheduled for April 22 and 23, will feature a range of activities including keynote presentations, interactive panel discussions, workshops, and roundtable sessions focusing on global economic and development issues.
