The exact date for the observance of Eid-ul-Adha in Bangladesh will be known this evening. The Islamic Foundation shared this information in a press release on Tuesday (May 27).
The release states that a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee for the month of Zilhaj of the Arabic year 1446 Hijri will be held today, Wednesday (May 28), at 6:30 PM (after Maghrib prayers) at the conference room of the National Mosque, Baitul Mukarram. The meeting will be chaired by Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain, Religious Affairs Adviser to the interim government.
The announcement further requests that if the moon of the holy month of Zilhaj is sighted anywhere in the sky of Bangladesh, it should be reported to the following telephone numbers: 02-223381725, 02-41050912, 02-41050916, and 02-41050917; or fax numbers: 02-223383397 and 02-9555951; or to the respective District Commissioner or Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
