An emergency meeting was held last night among the top leaders of five anti-fascist political parties at the call of Mufti Syed Mohammad Rezaul Karim Pir Saheb Charmonai, Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh.
The urgent meeting of the top leaders of the five anti-fascist parties took place late on Thursday (May 22) night at the central office of Islami Andolan in Purana Paltan, Dhaka, in light of the country's ongoing political situation.
Attendees included Nurul Haque Nur, President of Gono Odhikar Parishad; Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuaad, Secretary General of AB Party; Maulana Jalal Uddin Ahmad, Secretary General of Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis; Ariful Islam Adib, Senior Joint Convener of NCP; Professor Ashraf Ali Akon; Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman; Engineer Ashraful Alam; Maulana Sheikh Fazle Bari Masud; Maulana Imtiaz Alam; Mufti Syed Eshak Muhammad Abul Khayer; Ahmad Abdul Kaiyum; Engineer Mohammad Lokman, central leader of AB Party; Sarwar Tushar, Joint Convener of NCP; Mohammad Saddam Hossain, Chief Coordinator of NCP; Abu Hanif, Higher Council Member of Gono Odhikar Parishad; and Principal Hafez Maulana Yunus Ahmed, Secretary General of Islami Andolan; and Principal Maulana Syed Mosaddek Billah Al Madani, Presidium Member, among others.
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on adopting a more closely unified strategy for nation-building and maintaining peace and stability in the country in the future.
The leaders agreed to provide comprehensive support for holding an acceptable national election after necessary reforms under the leadership of Dr. Mohammad Yunus, head of the interim government.
In this discussion on the current political and overall situation of the country, all anti-fascist political forces were urged to remain united at any cost.
Dr. Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, expressed his views on the meeting over the phone and concurred with the decisions.
Finally, an appeal was made to remain vigilant so that no conspiratorial group can undermine the country's independence, sovereignty, and stability.
