Election Commission (EC) has decided that there will be no need to file General Diary (GD) with the police station if anybody loses his National Identity Card.
National Identity Registration Wing Director General Brigadier General Mohammad Saidul Islam confirmed the matter.
Saidul Islam said, I have submitted a proposal in the last commission meeting highlighting that to reduce harassment of citizens there should be a management so that people can collect replacement of lost NID cards without filling GD.

In most of the time people are harassed when they go to file GD with the police station. To reduce harassment of citizens this decision has been taken, he added.
