The Border Security Force (BSF) has agreed to remove the CCTV cameras installed along the zero line in South Banshjani, Kurigram, following a strong protest by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). This decision was confirmed in a press release issued by the BGB's Kurigram Battalion (22 BGB).
Earlier on Tuesday, February 11, at 11 am, a flag meeting was held between the BGB and BSF at the South Banshjani border in the Bhurungamari Upazila of Kurigram. The meeting was called after the Indian BSF installed CCTV cameras along the zero line.
The two-hour-long meeting took place within Bangladesh's border, with BGB's Lt. Colonel Muhammad Masudur Rahman leading the discussion, while BSF's delegation was headed by Commander Shri Anil Kumar Manoj of the 162 BSF Battalion.
The press release stated that the BSF has agreed to remove the CCTV cameras following the meeting's outcome.
