Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan has said that despite numerous limitations, Dhaka University has maintained a good position both domestically and internationally in the field of education and research. He stated that 40 percent of their teachers are of international standard.
However, he also noted that the university cannot provide a proper environment for teachers' research, and with necessary support, the remaining teachers would also be able to develop themselves to international standards.
He made these remarks on Tuesday (April 29) while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar titled 'Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development' held at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building conference room of Dhaka University.
The seminar was organized in light of an upcoming project funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) focusing on monitoring water quality and water purification technology in the Dhaka Metropolitan area.
