Dhallywood legendary actor Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooque passes away(Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).

On Monday, May 15, he died while undergoing treatment at 10 am local time at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. His son Roshan Hossain confirmed the matter.

Roshan told "My father's body will be brought to Dhaka on Tuesday, May 16 in the morning by an Air ambulance."

On August 18, 1948, Actor Farooque was born in Dhaka. Through the film 'Jolchhobi' directed by H. Akbar, he made his film debut in Dhallywood in 1971.

Kabri was the actress opposite to him in that movie. After that, in 1973, he acted in supporting roles in two movies based on Bangladesh liberation war, 'Abar Tora Manush Ho' directed by Khan Ataur Rahman and 'Alor Michil' by Narayan Ghosh Mita in 1974.

Actor Farooq has contributed to Dhallywood industry for nearly five decades.
