A decade after Hemlock Society, director Srijit Mukherji is back with its sequel, Killbill Society, set to hit theatres on April 11. Ahead of its release, Srijit has revealed a surprising inspiration behind the film—Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie!
In a recent social media post, Srijit shared that Jolie once contemplated having a family member secretly assassinated due to extreme circumstances. She even hired a serial killer, believing that removing an unwanted person from her life was a better option than ending her own. However, the hired assassin advised her to reconsider and gave her two months to reflect on her decision.
Addressing speculation about the film's plot, Srijit clarified, "For those sensing a conspiracy in Killbill Society, I want to confirm that this real-life incident involving Angelina Jolie served as my inspiration. So, I hope you watch the film with an open mind and enjoy the experience."
The movie stars Parambrata Chatterjee as Mrityunjay Kar, alongside Koushani Mukherjee as Purna Aich. Other notable cast members include Bishwanath Basu and Anindya Chatterjee.
