Turkish drone strikes in northeastern Syria on Friday evening killed four US-backed fighters and wounded 11 civilians.

Al Arabiya reported this information in a report on Saturday (June 1).

Turkey launched a drone attack on the northeast of Syria on Friday (May 31). Four members of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were killed. Another 11 civilians were injured.

The SDF said drone strikes hit its positions eight times as well as civilian homes and vehicles in and near the northern city of Qamishli. Such Turkish strikes are not uncommon in northeastern Syria.

Earlier, Turkish President Erdogan said Ankara would not hesitate to take action against Kurdish forces if they plan to hold elections in northern Syria.

The Syrian group is alleged to have links with Kurdish forces banned by Turkey.

It should be noted that the northern and eastern regions of Syria have been managed by the Kurdish leaders under their own control. They claim this region as autonomy and elections are scheduled to be held here on June 11.
