The moon of Shaban month is not sighted in the sky of the country on Saturday evening. For this the month of Rajab will be completed will full 30 days. Counting of Shaban month will begin from Monday. According to that the holy Shabe Barat will be observed on April 21 (Sunday) night.

The information came in after the meeting of national moon sighting committee on Saturday.

The meeting of the committee was held at the meeting room of Islamic Foundation at the national Baitul Mokarram mosque. State Minister for Religious Affairs and chairman of national moon sighting committee Sheikh Md. Abdullah presided over the meeting. Secretary of religious affairs ministry and other moon sighting committee members were present at that time.

After the meeting State Minister for Religious Affairs said, the moon of Shaban month of 1440 hijri was not sighted in the sky of our country on Saturday. As a result Shaban month counting will begin from Monday (April 8). And holy Lailatul Barat will be observed on April 21.

The Lailatul Barat (Shabe Barat) has special significance to Muslims. The night of the day is called the night for fixing fate. Muslim devotees pray to Allah to get relief from the sins of past and for happiness and prosperity for the next year. In this night known as night of fate devotees say special prayers, recite from the holy Quran and perform other means of devotion.
