Moon sighted, Eid on Thursday

Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across Bangladesh on Thursday (April 11) as the moon of Shawwal has been sighted in the sky of the country.

Earlier, the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee was held at 6.30 pm at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Religious affairs minister and National Moon Sighting Committee President Md Faridul Haque Khan presided the meeting.

As the moon of Shawwal month was not sighted in the country on Tuesday, the 30th Ramadan ended on Wednesday. As a result, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Thursday (April 11).
