Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia has said that special team will be deployed to prevent eve teasing on Pahela Baishakh so that women can celebrate the event without hindrance.
He said this at a media briefing on security and traffic direction on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh celebration at DMP media center on Thursday.
Asaduzzaman Mia said, special team will take immediate action against the involved in crimes like eve teasing. We are ready to provide flawless security during Pahela Baishakh. All should enjoy and we will provide security.
He said, adequate police force will be deployed in Ramna Park, Dhaka University, TSC, Suhrawardi Udyan, Rabindra Sarobor, Hatir Jheel and other areas. Every important venue will be under sweeping by SB and dog squad. All the areas will be under CCTV coverage and monitored from the control room.
The DMP Commissioner said, inform immediate to the nearby police if you see any suspicious people or object. Keep mobile phone number and home address in the pockets of children along with people. Contact nearby police station or ‘lost and found center’ if children are lost.
