Cocktail blast in clash between protesters, Chhatra League at DU

Quota reform protesters clashed with Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists in front of Shahidullah Hall at Dhaka University.

Clashes between the two sides are going on till the writing of this news at 6 pm on Monday (July 15). Both sides are throwing a lot of brickbats. Several cocktail explosions were also heard at the time.

On the spot, BCL leaders and activists of different halls were seen on the road with sticks. However, it is not clear who exploded the cocktails.

On the other hand, there was chaos across the campus, but no responsible officials, teachers or law enforcers were seen so far.

Meanwhile, six more cocktails exploded in the next three minutes from 5:40 pm. At the moment, thousands of BCL students have taken position in front of Shahidullah Hall with sticks.

Bangladesh Chhatra League President Saddam Hussain and General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan are at the scene.

Earlier, clashes were seen between the protesting students and Chhatra League in front of Bijoy Ekattor Hall of the university. The clash between BCL and general students of the hall started at 3pm. The two sides then fighted with brickbats and sticks.
