Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the issue of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's release on parole will be considered if appeal is made showing specific reasons.
He said this at a program of inaugurating a river police station structure at Bahadurabad area under Dewanganj upazila in Jamalpur district on Saturday.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, physicians of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) have informed that the physical condition of Khaleda Zia is well. She is being provided treatment there following their appeal. Even then if BNP makes appeal for Khaleda Zia's release on parole for treatment then the government will consider that if it seems logical.
Mentionable, Begum Khaleda Zia is being imprisoned from February 8 of last year over corruption cases. BNP is demanding for providing her treatment at specialized hospital claiming that she is seriously ill. Last week Khaleda Zia was admitted at BSMMU hospital.
