The court has suspended the activities of newly formed committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD). The court delivered the directive on Monday afternoon. Besides, the court wanted to know why the committee was formed undermining the ban of the court. JCD president and general secretary were asked to answer within seven days.

Earlier, the court imposed temporary ban on sixth council of JCD scheduled to hold on September 12. The court delivered the order following a case filed with Dhaka fourth assistant judge court by previous JCD committee religious affairs assistant secretary Aman Ullah seeking ban on holding the council.

Then on Wednesday JCD councilors, candidate and leaders and activists began to gather at BNP central office at Nayapaltan in the capital. After 5pm the acting chairman of BNP Tarique Rahman held meeting with the councilors, candidate and responsible leaders through skype. Decision was taken to hold the council on that night at BNP leader Mirza Abbas’s Shahjahanpur home.

Fazlur Rahman Khokon and Iqbal Hossain Shyamol were elected president and general secretary of JCD respectively in that council.
