Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to Bangladesh's interim government Chief Adviser, Dr Muhammad Yunus, during a phone call. He also invited Dr Yunus to visit Pakistan.
Shehbaz shared details of the conversation in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday (March 31).
He also mentioned that Pakistan's Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Ishaq Dar, will visit Bangladesh on April 22, accompanied by a trade delegation.
During their conversation, the two leaders also spoke about Bangladesh's legendary singer, Runa Laila. Shehbaz highlighted this in his post on X.
The Pakistani Prime Minister wrote, "Had a pleasant phone conversation with Bangladesh's Chief Adviser, Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus. We exchanged Eid-ul-Fitr greetings and reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Bangladesh ties."
Shehbaz further stated, "I eagerly anticipate the visit of Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister to Dhaka on April 22, along with a trade delegation."
He added, "I have reiterated my warm invitation to Dr Yunus to visit Pakistan at his convenience and also invited a cultural delegation from Bangladesh, including the iconic artist Runa Laila, to visit Pakistan. InshaAllah, the future of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations is very promising."
