Bangladesh to get benefits if Super Eight is confirmed
Bangladesh is very close to the Super Eight in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Six teams have already confirmed the Super Eight stage of the tournament. England, Netherlands and Scotland continue to fight with Bangladesh for the remaining two places.
Bangladesh will take the field against Nepal in their last match in the group stage. This match will determine the fate of the Tigers in the Super Eight. However, the Tigers have a huge advantage in front of them if they secure the Super Eight by defeating Nepal. Tigers can play directly in 2026 T20 World Cup.
Basically, every team that makes it to the Super Eight will participate directly in the next round. Along with hosts India, (they have secured the Super Eight this season as well), the top three teams in the T20 rankings (by June 30) will also play directly.
A total of 20 teams will participate in the next World Cup this time. 13 teams will play directly. The remaining seven teams will have to come through the qualifiers. 2 teams from Europe, 1 team from East Asia and 2 teams from Asia and Africa will play in the main event.
