BCB wants to postpone Afghanistan series
Bangladesh Cricket Team were scheduled to play a three-match ODI and T20I series against Afghanistan in India next month. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced the series in a statement on Friday (June 21).
But the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has requested the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to postpone the series considering the conditions and weather in India. ESPN and Cricinfo confirmed this information in their reports.
Afghanistan had offered Bangladesh a three-match ODI and three-match T20I series in India. According to the schedule, the three ODIs are scheduled to be played on July 25, 27 and 30 while the three T20Is are scheduled to be played on August 2, 4 and 6.
However, the BCB does not think the weather in India at that time is ideal for the international series. June to September is considered as the off-season in the subcontinent as it is the monsoon season. Because there is a possibility of a lot of rain at this time.
On the other hand, the Tigers will travel to Pakistan in August. Where they will play a two-match Test series. After Pakistan series, Bangladesh will play against India. The will play three T20Is and two Tests on that tour.
