Awami League leaders and activists and their allies are in danger without Sheikh Hasina's presence. They have started losing their positions one by one. In the meantime, Salam Murshedi has resigned from the post of senior vice president of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
BFF confirmed this information in a statement on Thursday (August 8). Attempts were made to contact Salam Murshedi to find out why he resigned, but he did not answer the call. However, BFF's statement mentioned that he resigned for personal reasons.
Two days earlier, a football supporter group in Bangladesh known as 'Football Ultras' gave an ultimatum demanding the resignation of BAFF president Kazi Salahuddin and women's wing chairman Mahfuza Akhter Kiron.
After Kazi Salahuddin, another powerful and important member of BFF was Abdus Salam Murshedi. Since 2008, he has served as Senior Vice President of BFF for 16 consecutive years. After 2014, he was elected as a Member of the Parliament of Awami League for three successive terms.
