The history of Bangladesh Test cricket started on November 10, 2000, with a one-match series against India. Even after 24 years, the Tigers regretted not being able to do well in Tests against big teams. Series draws against England in 2016 and Australia at home in 2017 were the Tigers' greatest achievements against big teams.

In the 24-year history, Bangladesh won only 8 series despite playing 75 series before taking the field against Pakistan. That is against smaller teams like the West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland, and Afghanistan. But this time Bangladesh got success against big team. The Tigers whitewashed a big team like Pakistan in the two-match Test series in Rawalpindi.

Bangladesh has played a total of 76 Test series so far. Where Bangladesh has won a total of 9 series. Finally against Pakistan.

Let's take a look at the history of Bangladesh Test series wins

First: Bangladesh's history of Test series began in 2000, but the Tigers had to wait four years for their first series win. In 2004, Bangladesh played a two-match Test series against Zimbabwe at home.

Bangladesh won the first match by 226 runs.

Second: Even after winning the first Test match in 2004, the Tigers could not maintain the consistency of that performance. As a result, they had to wait another five years for their second victory.

In 2009, Bangladesh went to play a two-match Test series on West Indies soil. Where the Tigers wrote the history of winning the series on foreign soil for the first time by whitewashing the hosts.

Third: Bangladesh's third series win came against Zimbabwe. In 2014, the Tigers whitewashed the three-match Test series at home.

Bangladesh performed well in all three matches of this series. Bangladesh won by 3 wickets in the first match, 162 runs in the second match, and 186 runs in the fourth match.

Fourth: Bangladesh's fourth Test series trophy came in 2018. Four years after the third. Tigers whitewashed West Indies.

Fifth: Bangladesh won by 106 runs in a single Test against Zimbabwe in 2020. Which is Bangladesh's fifth series win.

Sixth: The sixth Test series in Bangladesh is also against Zimbabwe. In 2021, the Tigers got a big win by 220 runs in a single Test at the home ground of the Rhodesians.

Seventh: Ireland played only one Test against Bangladesh in April 2023. The Irish lost by 7 wickets against the Tigers in Mirpur.

Eighth: Bangladesh won two Test series in 2023. After defeating Ireland in April, the Tigers scored a record 546-run win against the Afghans in June.

Ninth: Bangladesh's ninth win is the most memorable. Because Bangladesh won the series against a big team like Pakistan for the first time. Bangladesh won this series by 2-0 against Pakistan.

The Bangladesh team will go to India to play a two-match Test series next month. The Tigers want to break the drought of Test wins against India with that series.
