The July Mass Uprising is a significant milestone in Bangladesh's history, stated Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman.
Speaking at a reception event for the July fighters at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment on Tuesday (March 25), he honored the contributions of those who participated in the movement.
Describing the participants as the pride of the nation, the Army Chief emphasized that the youth not only played an active role in the uprising but also inspired others in the pursuit of justice and rightful demands through integrity and determination.
He reaffirmed that the Bangladesh Army has always stood by the July fighters and will continue to support their dreams. “Guided by the motto ‘In war, we stand firm; in peace, we serve everywhere for the country,’ the army remains committed to the welfare of the nation, just as it has in the past,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of patriotism, nationalism, honesty, humanity, and discipline, he urged everyone to work together toward a prosperous and thriving Bangladesh.
During the event, the Bangladesh Army provided financial assistance to the families of those injured or killed in the July Mass Uprising.
