Bangladesh drew the two-match Test series against the West Indies. Now, they will begin their mission in the ODI series. The first match of the three-match ODI series will be played today (Sunday) with the Miraz-led team taking the field. The match will begin at 8 pm Bangladesh time.

In this match, several changes are expected in the Bangladesh team's XI. Due to injuries, regular captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto, experienced Mushfiqur Rahim, and young batter Towhid Hridoy are missing from the series.

Shanto's absence will see Mehidy Hasan Miraz captaining the team, though there are concerns about the number three position. Rumors suggest that Litton Kumar Das will bat at number three for the first time in place of Shanto. Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Soumya Sarkar are likely to open the innings.

At number four, Mehidy Hasan Miraz will bat, while with Hridoy's absence, Afif Hossain Dhrubo will bat at number five, and experienced Mahmudullah Riyad will take the number six spot. In place of Mushfiq, Zakir Ali Onik will be the wicketkeeper and bat at number seven.

In the spin department, Miraz will be joined by Nasum Ahmed, who proved himself with a stellar performance against Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Taskin Ahmed will lead the pace attack. With Mustafizur Rahman on leave, Shariful Islam, the lone left-arm pacer, may get a spot in the XI.

The Tigers' management will face a tough decision for the third pacer. They will have to choose between Nahid Rana, who performed exceptionally in the Test series, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who shone in the recent Global Super League.

However, in terms of experience in ODIs, Tanzim Sakib has the edge, and the Tigers are likely to opt for him in the XI.

Possible XI for the First ODI
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (c), Litton Das (wk), Tanzid Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Parvez Hossain Emon, Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali, Afif Hossain, Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Nahid Rana
