Chelsea and Arsenal Draw in Thrilling London Showdown
Chelsea and Arsenal battled to a 1-1 draw in an exciting London Derby on Sunday. Gabriel Martinelli put Arsenal ahead in the 60th minute, slotting in a well-timed pass from Martin Odegaard.
Chelsea quickly leveled the score in the 70th minute, thanks to a stunning 30-yard strike from Pedro Neto, set up by Enzo Fernandez.
Chelsea came out strong, with early shots from Cole Palmer and multiple attempts by Noni Madueke and Malo Gusto, but Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya held firm.
Arsenal’s Kai Havertz found the net in the first half, only for his goal to be called offside, and the Gunners missed further opportunities to extend their lead.
Chelsea finished with 49% possession and 17 shots, including three on target, matching Arsenal’s three on-target efforts from 12 shots.
Both teams pushed hard for a winner but ultimately shared the points. Now tied at 19 points each, Chelsea sits third, with Arsenal in fourth on goal difference.
