Congo Launches Its First Mpox Vaccination Drive

The Democratic Republic of Congo recorded nearly 1,000 deaths and more than 30,000 mpox cases. The first of the vaccines were administered to medical staff. Starting next week the shots will be offered to the public.

A cargo plane carrying tens of thousands of mpox vaccines is set to arrive at the Kinshasa International Airport. Congo is at the center of the epidemic declared a global health emergency by the WHO.
